Birdie

Birdie is a 3-year-old female GSP mix with a beautiful brindle and ticked coat, she is approximately 35lbs. She was found starving as a stray in rural Oklahoma and has the most wonderful nature, despite the terrible neglect she suffered.

Looking for a well-mannered hiking companion who will snuggle up as a cozy couch buddy? Birdie is the perfect "decaffeinated" version of a GSP who can offer you both! She is a sweet, soulful, medium-sized girl with a calm and feminine presence. She is the perfect age and demeanor for civilized society, no hellion puppy energy here!

Birdie enjoys getting out for a morning walk or hike and walks beautifully on her harness. She enjoys following interesting scents on walks but responds well to recall using tone-only on an e-collar.

After some fresh air, she’s more than happy to settle in for a snooze nearby. Birdie is comfortable resting in a crate when needed and does well being kenneled when home alone or overnight, especially when her bedding is extra plush and cozy. She is not destructive in her crate and has not shown any tendency to tear up bedding or blankets. That said, she definitely prefers lounging somewhere comfortable and given a choice, she will stretch out on the couch next to you.

Whether heading out for an outdoor adventure or riding along to the next destination, she always enjoys car rides and is a relaxed passenger.

Birdie is affectionate and loves people, greeting her favorite humans with the sweetest little hugs. Even when she gets excited, she remains gentle and graceful. Although she is sweet with children, we think Birdie would truly thrive living in a quieter, less busy household as boisterous people can be rather alarming for such a gentle soul.

She does great with both male and female dogs of all ages and sizes. We think she would do best with a peaceful companion who shares her calm and docile nature. Birdie isn’t much of a roughhousing kind of girl. She has not been tested with cats.

Birdie is a mellow and gentle companion who enjoys both off-leash adventures and quiet evenings at home. If you prefer your pups without the "espresso-fueled" wild child features, Birdie might be the perfect girl for you!

About Birdie’s ideal family:

✅You can provide daily exercise for Birdie, some of which will be off-leash

✅You want to include Birdie in your daily routine and outdoor adventures eg hiking, paddleboarding

✅ You have a securely fenced yard (unfenced yard is ok if you live on multiple acres)

❌Ideally no kids under 10 because noisy humans can scare Birdie. (She is great with kids but is a gentle soul)
