Ranger - Adopted

I’m RANGER, a 4-year-old purebred GSP and I’m needing a new home as soon as possible. My mom is a veteran on disability and she is unable to give me the exercise that we have always been able to do together. Her living situation has become very challenging recently so she is hoping someone who knows my breed and who has lots of time to spend caring for and adventuring with me will want to welcome me into their family.                                                                                                         So mom is working with Mile High GPS Rescue to find just the right family for me.

I’ve been obedience trained so I know sit, stay, come down and off. And, of course, I am housetrained. I’m also crate and leash trained although I do pull on my leash sometimes. I just want to move faster or in a different direction than my mom sometimes. But I listen well and I’m very responsive to correction. When my mom is gone, I have free reign in the house because I am very well behaved and I’ve also had a doggy door so I can go outside when I need to. At night I sleep in my mom’s room on my own bed.

I love being with all people and, of course, other dogs but I do chase cats so one of those would probably be difficult for me to live with and maybe even more difficult for the cat! But running and being chased by other dogs are some of my favorite things to do. I also love playing fetch, going on car rides and hiking. And running off leash in a field, on a trail or through the woods is the very best!

Mom is heart-broken that she isn’t able now to provide the kind of exercise that I want to have. She knows that I need a family that will give me that exercise and also has lots of room and a safe fence. She tells everyone what a sweet and very affectionate boy I am. We both want a very loving, adventurous family for me to become an important part of.
