Dicki / Unavailable

Dicki is a 2-year-old solid liver female GSP. She's ready to be an awesome only dog for

her next family. She was originally rescued through Mile High GSP at 7 months old and

her family has been loving and training her since.

She rings bells to go outside and is crate trained but nondestructive in the house.

Dicki will jump fences but is contained in the yard with an invisible fence. She is e-collar

trained and knows all her basic obedience and more.

And she hunts! Dicki would love a new family who would take her hunting, at least once

in a while. She has a couple months of training under her belt and while she's not the

steadiest dog yet, she has plenty of drive, a great nose, and a stylish point.

Recently she worked with Corinna Peters, the owner/trainer at Creekside Kennels, who

said this about Dicki:

- started dog in the field

- holds point

- has been shot over

- obedience/hunting commands are going well (here, down, whoa, quartering)

- retrieve needs work but very trainable

Takes to training and structure very well; does not do well with an over commanding

handler in the field

This lovely girl is fine with older kids. She can be nervous about new people coming into

her home but isn't people aggressive and is happy to go in her crate when you have

guests over if you prefer. She hasn't spent much time with younger kids. Dicki has a

very high prey drive and would not do well with a house cat.

Dicki is looking for a new family only because she does not get along with other dogs,

and her current family is not a one dog household. Dicki needs to be an only dog, and

on top of that, cannot be trusted with any dogs. Because she's so full of energy she

needs some space to call her own and get exercise without other dogs. She'll play fetch

until you stop but is also happy outside patrolling for critters alone.

Inside she's a lapdog who will happily sleep in her crate or with her humans!
